LG AI Research has taken a major step into the world of financial technology with the launch of its first financial AI agent, EXAONE Business Intelligence (EXAONE-BI). The company introduced the commercial service during an event held at the London Stock Exchange (LSE) on September 19, bringing together leaders from both LG AI Research and the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG).

A Landmark Event at LSE

The announcement was made official on September 21, following a high-profile event that signaled the start of commercial services for EXAONE-BI. Attendees included senior executives from LSEG such as Todd Hartmann, group head of data and feeds; Ivo Dekkers, group head of sales for EMEA in data and analytics; Simon Youdon, head of real time, quant and economic data; and Andrew Fyffe, head of sales for APAC.

Representing LG AI Research were co-presidents Lee Hong-rak and Im Woo-hyung, along with Lee Hwa-young, who leads AI business development. The gathering highlighted the significance of this collaboration, not only for the two organizations but also for the broader financial technology sector.

During the event, Hartmann emphasized the importance of innovation in shaping the financial ecosystem. He noted that the partnership with LG creates a new beginning for investors worldwide. According to him, EXAONE-BI offers highly reliable data that can improve decision-making, enhance forecasting, and ultimately provide better opportunities for investors across global markets.

LSEG’s Role in the Global Financial Industry

The London Stock Exchange Group is one of the most influential financial companies in the world. Beyond operating the iconic London Stock Exchange, LSEG provides a wide range of financial infrastructure services and market data solutions that investors rely on for informed decision-making.

By integrating LG AI Research’s EXAONE-BI, LSEG aims to strengthen its existing data offerings. The company has plans to sell a new product called the AI-Powered Equity Forecast Score (AEFS). This product will be based on EXAONE-BI’s predictive scores and analysis reports, and it will be marketed to investors globally.

What Makes EXAONE-BI Stand Out

At its core, EXAONE-BI is designed to function as a financial AI agent capable of handling the full cycle of financial analysis. This includes gathering and analyzing massive amounts of data, making predictions about future market trends, and even writing detailed reports, all without the need for human intervention.

LG AI Research built EXAONE-BI using a multi-agent structure, where four specialized AI agents collaborate as experts in different areas. This design allows the system to function much like a team of analysts, each bringing its own strengths and then combining insights to produce more accurate and actionable outcomes.

One of EXAONE-BI’s defining strengths is its ability to process both text-based and numerical data simultaneously. This dual capability makes it particularly effective for analyzing the vast and complex information flows that drive the financial world. From company reports and news headlines to stock charts and economic indicators, EXAONE-BI can synthesize information quickly and provide insights that investors can act upon.

A Step Toward AI-Driven Finance

For LG, the launch of EXAONE-BI represents more than just the release of a new product. It signals the company’s growing presence in the field of vertical AI technologies, where artificial intelligence is tailored to serve specific industries and use cases.

Im Woo-hyung, co-president of LG AI Research, described EXAONE-BI as a platform that merges prediction technology with advanced AI agent collaboration. He explained that the system is designed to evolve into a highly advanced expert service where multiple agents demonstrate collective intelligence. This collaborative framework allows the AI to perform at a level comparable to teams of human experts, but with greater speed and efficiency.

Im also highlighted that the partnership with LSEG is proof of the value and competitiveness of LG’s AI solutions in the global market. He expressed confidence that this collaboration marks the beginning of large-scale profit generation through AI, as financial institutions increasingly turn to intelligent systems for forecasting and decision-making.

Looking Ahead

The introduction of EXAONE-BI at one of the world’s leading financial hubs underscores the accelerating pace at which AI is transforming the financial sector. While many companies have explored AI in areas such as fraud detection or customer service, LG’s move into predictive financial intelligence represents a deeper level of integration.

If EXAONE-BI delivers on its promise, it could reshape how investors, analysts, and financial institutions operate. The combination of vast data processing, predictive accuracy, and automated reporting could give market participants new tools to stay ahead in a highly competitive environment.

As global markets continue to evolve, the collaboration between LG AI Research and LSEG may serve as a blueprint for future partnerships between technology innovators and financial institutions. The financial AI agent era is just beginning, and EXAONE-BI is positioning itself at the forefront of this transformation.
